Report on the Annual Meeting of the Board
of Directors:
April 8, 2008
The Board of Directors of For Purpose Inc. held their annual business
meeting in Stuart, Florida on March 15, 2008. Directors Charlotte
Abell, Linda Coleman, Jonnie-Ruth Kuhn, Iris Lee, Karen Malfregeot,
Edna Matthews, Andrea Lynne Rice, and Guy Wagner were present. Carole
Devine was absent due to a family illness.
It was noted that directors Charlotte Abell and Edna Matthews were
re-elected to the board during the January election. Incoming director
Linda Bress was welcomed as a guest. The terms for all three of
these directors will be April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011.
Secretary Edna Matthews read the minutes from the October board
meeting and the October community meeting; they were approved by
the board.
Treasurer Jonnie Ruth Kuhn gave the Treasurer's Report, which was
also approved by the Board. President Karen Malfregeot reported
that Mike Delaney had filed the change of fiscal year request with
the IRS and that it had been approved. Our fiscal year is now January
1 through December 31st.
The Board unanimously agreed to have Karen Malfregeot continue
as FPI's Registered Agent, since our organization is based
in Florida.
Linda Bress agreed to continue storing supplies and items used
at our October conference for another year.
Karen introduced the idea of FPI contact cards that could be given
to interested persons for additional information. The contact cards
were approved by the board. Linda Bress volunteered to investigate
printing; she will scan samples & then email them to all board
members for suggestions and approval. The printed cards will be
sent to elders & facilitators, and will also be distributed
to the community at the October conference.
The board discussed the annual election process. Howard Hill was
commended for coordinating the electronic portion of the 2008 voting.
The recent process of having both electronic and mailed ballots
has been successful. The board voted for the Vice President to be
in charge of coordinating the annual elections, beginning with the
2009 election.
Iris Lee announced that she had videoed and recorded a lot of the
2007 conference. She suggested that this be edited and placed on
our website and also possibly YouTube. The board agreed to this
suggestion.
The board discussed and agreed to several suggestions for refreshing
our website: adding the organization by-laws; adding links for people
and organizations that support us; adding an in-memoriam page; adding
the FPI history; correcting some of the angel baby information,
etc.
For the 2008 FPI conference, "The Next Step... ",
the Board authorized updating our brochure and our website (www.FollowTheMoon.org).
Registration fees were also approved: $ 250 if received by October
4th; $ 300 for registration after October 4th.
"The Next Step... " is October 17 - 23, 2008. The afternoon of
October 23rd will feature a special post-conference workshop by
John Dumas, 'Shamanic Journey into Dreamtime'. The workshop fee
will be $ 40 for those attending the conference, and $55 for those

Report on Honoring Mother Earth Day -
Received November 17, 2007:
From JT & Charlotte
Our 15th Conference, The Journey Continues
, was filled with
the loving energy of the FPI Community family! The evaluations received
spoke of a week of delightful learning experiences, great presentations
by our speakers and facilitators, a powerful Healing Service, and
the excitement of sharing in the energies of a group such as this!
Our Thursday afternoon workshop presented by Robert P. Blaschke
was inspirational and most informative. The week went by way too
quickly and for the first time in many, many years
and perhaps in the history of our Conferences we basically
were ON TIME! Buz must be so proud of us!
This being ON TIME was sort of 'different' and we likened it to
being some of the first to step into the 'New Time' heralded by
Pluto going beyond the Galactic Center. Like all New Phase energies,
there's lots of freshness and enthusiasm to carry us into the future
even though we might not know where we're going! The blossoming
of this New Time elicits excitement and the adventurous heart to
step into the New with SERVICE being our intent. How fortunate we
all are to be living in these exciting and changing times!
Our Friday, October 26, 2007, Honoring Mother Earth Day activities
began with 26 of us piling into cars to head for the Buff Foundation
Memorial Walkway at 47th Street. Jonnie-Ruth Kuhn told the story
of the events surrounding the laying of the brick in honor of Buz
Myers several years ago. Each person had a chance to speak from
their heart about their experience at the Conference. Charlotte
Abell brought the Angelic Toning to the circle as a blessing. Just
before the rain showers hit, John Dumas played his flute to end
our little ceremony of remembrance.
The ARE Labyrinth was our next stop and the rain ended, the sun
peeped out, and the 26 of us walked in prayerful silence. The flute
of John Dumas welcomed and honored the four directions after John
got to the center of the Labyrinth and then he drummed throughout
the rest of the walk. The energy of this sacred space that is open
to the public was palpable. Prayers went out to the world and to
Mother Earth.
Lunch at Mary's Restaurant was our next stop. Amazingly there were
tables just cleaned off and put together for our large group, so
we didn't have to wait for a space at this busy and popular restaurant.
Off we went then to the First Landing State Park to make a Medicine
Wheel and set the intention for our 2008 Conference. Twenty-six
of us! My, how our group has grown! (Last year there were 8 of us!)
The skies were heavy and threatening but the rain held off until
we completed our ceremony.
John led us to a special place in the Park and then smudged all
of us as only a shaman can do! We called in the Four Directions
and Mother Earth and Father Sky to create the sacred space in which
to speak our prayers and intentions for our next conference, which
will be the Balsamic Phase of our 16th Annual Conference. Our theme
is "The Next Step . . ." on our continuing journey into
Light.
Drumming, singing and dancing around the wheel was a joy to participate
in. Our circle included people from many reaches of our country
as well as Canada and each would take the energy with them to their
area. In a real way, this radiates the Light energy and high vibrations
of which our 'family' is composed.
Our day ended with rain, a much needed commodity in the VA Beach
area, truly a sign of great blessing. The joy of community camaraderie,
celebration, and ceremony will stay with us as we prepare for:
The Next Step . . .
October 17-23, 2008
We began our Journey of the second round of the phases without
Buz, yet we have successfully kept on the path
. And now we
take The Next Step into the most exciting time for humanity! We
trust we'll be seeing you next year at the Surfside in VA Beach.
Come, take that next step with us down the path to the 2008 Conference
.and
grab the hand of someone you love and bring them with you!
The "On-Timers" of For Purpose, Inc., send you and yours
Many Blessings for a Sacred Thanksgiving and Holiday Season!

Report on "SHARING SACRED SPACE"
2006 Conference and
the Post-Conference Activities
November 27, 2006
Sharing Sacred Space was filled with the loving energy of the FPI
Community folks! The evaluations received spoke of a week of delightful
learning experiences, great presentations by our speakers and facilitators,
a powerful Healing Service, and the excitement of sharing in the
energies of a group such as this! Everyone seemed to have a great
and enjoyable time. The week just went by way too quickly!
Our Friday, October 20, 2006, Post-Conference activities began with
20 of us piling into cars to head for the Buff Foundation Memorial
Walkway at 47th street. Yaxki Welker led us in a ceremony honoring
our founder, Robert Buz Myers, as we gathered in a circle around
the stone that had been placed in his memory. As if requested by
Spirit, a lady visiting the Memorial Walkway was on hand to snap
our photo!
After the ceremony, several left the group of 20 to head back home
after smooches and hugs to send them on their way. Our next stop
was the ARE Labyrinth where we walked the Labyrinth in prayerful
silence. The energy of this sacred space that is open to the public
was palpable. Our group included elders as well as youth with all
ages in between. Prayers went out to the world and to Mother Earth.
Marys Restaurant was our next stop for a delicious lunch.
Amazingly, there were tables just cleaned off and put together for
our large group, so we didnt have to wait for a space at this
busy and popular restaurant. More good-byes were said as others
left the group to continue on their journey home after our community
lunch.
Eight of us went to the First Landing State Park to make a Medicine
Wheel and set the intention for our conference in 2007. Eight of
usone for each phase! Well be journeying around the
wheel for the 15th time, our Third Quarter Phase set for October
19-25, 2007, with the theme of The Journey Continues
.
Mother Nature offers metaphors for our lives in very real ways.
As we parked the cars at the park, the wind was blowing quite heartily,
kicking up sand and blowing the stinging granules everywhere. We
began walking on the well-worn pathway alongside the water; then,
because of the strong winds, we veered off the beaten path and found
ourselves walking through scattered weeds that were loaded with
burrs! Some of us were in open-toed sandals; some in long pants.
Everyone got the burrs!
At times stopping to pull out the bothersome burrs, we made our
way close to some trees and set the Phase Wheel. A small crystal
globe of Earth was placed in the center of the Wheel along with
a Tranquility Stone. The Directions were called in and then we stated
our intent for the next conference. We sang and chanted while the
cleansing Winds of Change blew -- the winds of transformation coming
together with the fire of the Sun, the water nearby, and the sweet
Earth.
As we looked about the circle of 8, we realized we had a representative
from many different countries and directions. Zulay Krepley was
originally from Venezuela; Joey Crinita from Canada; Anna Novostad
from Germany; Sandra Mosley from Hawaii; Howard Hill from Ohio;
Edna Matthews from Virginia; Jonnie-Ruth Kuhn from Florida; and
Charlotte Abell from Maryland.
Our desires for peace in the world as well as peace within ourselves
floated out into the strong Winds of Change into the universe. Our
metaphor with the burrs was that, as a group of people, we have
stepped off the beaten path and there would be a few burrs along
the way. However, they can easily be picked off. Our job is to just
keep on the journey. After our sacred ceremony, we gathered to pull
off the rest of the burrsalmost like monkeys picking off bothersome
things from each other. Group process for sure!
Anna, who lives in Germany, stated that after WW II with the tremendous
destruction in her country, the people had to gather their strength,
live their peace, and know there would be something new in their
future. They would need to work together for the changes they envisionedto
come together in unity around the creation of a new life and to
move into the changes that were necessary.
We began our Honoring Mother Earth Day with a circle at the stone
set for Buz; we ended our day with a circle in the sacred space
of First Landing Park. The joy of community camaraderie, celebration,
and ceremony will stay with us as we prepare for
.
The Journey Continues
..
October 19-25, 2007
We have playfully added thrilling to the thoughts about
the journey for the 2007 conference. Our brochure will sport a photo
taken by Jonnie-Ruth that shows Joey and Iris walking down a path
towards some construction that is taking place along the oceanfront.
This aptly symbolizes The Journey Continues
--
walking into the future with its construction already underway.
We trust well be seeing you next year at the Surfside in VA
Beach. Come, journey with us down the path to the 2007 conference
..
and grab the hand of someone you love and bring them with you!
